Autodnld Overview

"Autodnld" is a free program created and supported by Intex that automates the process of updating the Intex data at your site. It typically runs unattended on a computer at your site that can connect to the Intex shipment servers over the Internet via FTP (obsolete) or HTTPS.

Autodnld is written in Perl, which is a popular cross-platform scripting language.
If you are running under Windows, you can run the compiled version of the program, so that you do not have to load Perl on your system.
If you have to use linux/unix version of autodnld, you need install perl on your system. In order to use version 5.0u or higher autodnld, you also need the following perl modules:
IO::Socket (Version 1.53 or higher)

You can install them using CPAN.
You need your firewall to whitelist *.intex.com:443 for the connections.

Optional: download "dbstatus"

Dbstatus is an Intex-developed stand-alone executable for verifying your Intex database files. It is included as part of Autodnld. What dbstatus.exe does is compares a file included in your shipment which lists all of the models (CDIs) and the last two months of updates (CDUs) to what is actually found on your database. If there are any missing files or files which are mismatched due to size, date or timestamp errors, the mismatched file will be listed in a report which dbstatus.exe generates called dbstatus.rpt. The dbstatus.rpt file is found in the \autodnld\log directory. It is the dbstatus.rpt file which needs to be emailed to autodnld_help@intex.com so we can re-ship the problem files.
Upon request, dbstatus.exe can be enhanced to verify further than 2 months of updates (CDUs). Please contact your account manager for details.
Dbstatus uses command line arguments. Run it with no arguments to view its syntax usage.
It is available for the plaforms below if you are running dbstatus on a platform other than Windows

NOTE: you will need to "chmod" any UNIX executable to a+x after uncompressing and untar'ing it.

Dbstatus uses command line arguments; if you run it with no arguments you will be shown a usage screen.
